Annual Letter: Hope for the Future from G-Team Founder, Mr. Sean Jager

Updated: Nov 28, 2023

Dear Friends,

It is that special time of year again when we look back in celebration of all that has been accomplished and look forward as we plan for the future. There is much to celebrate and much to look forward to. Thank you for a few moments to share my thoughts as we look towards 2024 and the impact that G-Team can continue to make in the lives of God's people.

In 2010 I founded G-Team and for the first few years it was a family ministry that my wife and young sons worked on with me to share G-Team with the Charleston community. With the help of Why Not Charleston, a local non-profit, G-Team was launched in 2013 as a school club. Since that time, G-Team has positively impacted hundreds of young people in the Charleston area. Many, as a result, accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. I am humbled by God’s grace and His blessings upon this grassroots effort. I am grateful to the volunteers who offered their time and talents to bring G-Team to so many seeking to belong and experience God’s love. My hope and continued prayer is that this initiative will continue to nurture the Christian lifestyle for many years to come. As we look to the future, the goal for 2024 is that the G-Team experience will reach communities beyond Charleston. This letter is about that future hope.

G-Team means God’s Team. My vision was to make sure people knew they all belong on the greatest team of all - God’s Team. G-Team is a catalyst for positioning men of all ages to impact their lives and the lives of others by applying ideals of the Gospel - LOVE, JOY, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, AND SELF-CONTROL - all attributes of God to follow and live by as Christians.

Under the leadership of Mrs. Kathy Lewis, Why Not Charleston (WNC) launched G-Team as its premier youth initiative in 2013 and has been the leader in bringing the G-Team opportunity to many schools in the Lowcountry. This year, Mr. John Harris, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, became the new Executive Director of Gospel Engagement for Why Not Charleston. John has taken the mantle to continue the efforts of the organization and expand them, with a new vision, to see men of all ages across the country experience G-Team and know the love of Christ.

I have had the pleasure of getting to know John. He is an exceptional man of God who is sincerely committed to serving others and who possesses outstanding leadership qualities and abilities. I am confident in his dedication and faith as a Christian leader, and I believe the support he will receive through Why Not Charleston will ensure his success in this important endeavor.

The hope is to raise $100,000 needed to expand the G-Team ministry in 2024. I humbly ask today for your help to realize this collective financial goal. You can find more information about G-Team by accessing the G-Team website through www.whynotcharleston.com - look for the G-Team tab in the menu. You can also mail in a gift donation or drop it off in person at the Why Not Charleston Office: G-Team Department at 1345 Old Georgetown Road Mount Pleasant, SC 29464.

Thank you in advance for your time and kind consideration to help take G-Team to the next level in 2024 for God’s Kingdom and for His Glory!

Merry Christmas!

Sincerely,

Sean JAGER

Founder of G-Team
